The phone in your shipping address

AliExpress asks for a contact phone with every delivery address. The seller passes it to the shipping company, and in your country it reaches the local courier or postal service. They use it to text a delivery window, call when they cannot find the building, or tell you about import charges.

That is the number that most needs to work, and for longer than people expect. Delivery can take a few days with local warehouses or several weeks from China.

Account codes

Depending on how you signed up, AliExpress sends codes by email or text for new devices, password resets and some payment steps. An email account you control is the most durable choice. If you add a phone, use one you keep, so a sign-in from a new phone does not depend on a number you no longer have.

Buyer protection and disputes

If an item does not arrive within the promised time, or arrives damaged or different from the listing, you can open a dispute from the order page within the protection period. Photos, videos and tracking help. Do not confirm receipt until you have the item and have checked it, because confirming can shorten your options.

New-user deals are for new users

AliExpress offers low prices and coupons to first-time buyers. People try to claim them again with fresh accounts and numbers. AliExpress links accounts through devices, addresses and payment methods and can cancel such orders or restrict the accounts. We do not support using our numbers for it.

Import charges

In many countries VAT is collected at checkout, so nothing more is due on delivery. In others, the courier may ask for import charges before handing over the parcel, usually through its own official site or at the door. Check what applies to your country on the order page.

Delivery-fee texts

Fake texts claim a parcel is held for a small "customs fee" or "redelivery charge" and link to a payment page that steals card details. If you are expecting an AliExpress parcel, it is exactly the text you might believe. Check tracking in the AliExpress app and go to the courier's site yourself. Do not follow links in the message.

When the code does not arrive

In order of how often each one is the real cause:

1. The courier could not contact you
   The phone in the address may be wrong or lapsed. Update it and contact the courier.
2. The verification code did not arrive
   Check whether it went to email or phone, then retry.
3. The order has not arrived
   Check tracking, then open a dispute before the protection period ends.
4. A text asks for a customs fee through a link
   Treat it as a scam. Check tracking in the app instead.
5. A new-user coupon was refused
   These are for genuinely new customers only.
