Your number opens the account

AstroPay signs you up with a mobile number and a code, and the number becomes part of how the account is identified. Other users can send money to you by it. That makes the number the front door to a wallet. Whoever controls it in future has a head start on the account.

Use a number you will keep, protected by your carrier's PIN, and update it in the app before you ever change it.

Verification levels and limits

New accounts start with low limits. Verifying identity with documents, and sometimes a selfie and proof of address, raises them. That is how AstroPay meets anti-money-laundering rules in the countries it serves. It only works with your own documents, and those documents must match the phone and the payment methods on the account.

Paying on gaming, trading and betting sites

Many people use AstroPay to deposit on and withdraw from gaming, trading and betting sites. Those sites run their own identity checks, and payouts are expected to go to a wallet in the account holder's name. A wallet that does not match the player's identity is a common reason for rejected withdrawals on both sides.

One account per person

AstroPay allows one account per person. Additional accounts opened with other numbers, whether to get around limits, collect promotions or separate activity, can be closed and their balances held while the matter is reviewed. We do not support using our numbers for it.

Virtual and physical cards

AstroPay cards let you spend the wallet balance online or in shops where they are available. Treat card details like any bank card: never share the full number, expiry date and security code with someone who contacted you, and freeze the card in the app if you suspect misuse.

Fake support and code requests

Scammers pose as AstroPay support on WhatsApp, Telegram and social media, often replying to people who complain publicly about a problem. They ask for the code AstroPay sent you, or for remote access, and use it to drain the wallet. Official support works through the app and the official website. Nobody legitimate needs your code.

Changing your number

If you get a new number, change it in the AstroPay app while you still have the old one. You may be asked to confirm your identity. If the old number is already gone, contact support through the official app or website and be ready to verify with your documents. Carriers reassign numbers, and a wallet left on an abandoned one is exposed.

In order of how often each one is the real cause:

1. Your limits are too low
   Complete the next verification level with your own documents.
2. A withdrawal from a gaming site was rejected
   The wallet must match the player's identity on the site.
3. Your account was restricted
   Duplicate accounts and mismatched details are common reasons. Contact support.
4. Someone on WhatsApp says they are AstroPay support
   Do not share codes. Use the app's own support.
5. You changed numbers
   Update it in the app, or contact support with your documents.
