Your number goes on the ad

Bazoš keeps things simple. You write an ad, confirm a phone number with an SMS code, and buyers call or text you on that number. There is no in-site payment system in the middle. That simplicity is why the site is popular, and why your number matters so much here.

Once an ad is live, the number is visible to everyone, including automated scrapers that collect seller numbers for sales and scams.

People most often use one of our numbers for Bazos to:

Many apps expect the number you keep. We help with the cases above; we do not help anyone reach an account that is not theirs — see our acceptable use policy.

A second number for selling

Many regular sellers keep a separate SIM or number for Bazoš ads. It keeps calls from dealers and scam texts off their personal phone, and it can be switched off when they are not selling.

The number must stay active while ads are live, because genuine buyers call, sometimes days later. A short rental covers the confirmation code but not the life of an ad.

The most common scam against Bazoš sellers arrives by SMS or WhatsApp. A "buyer" says they will arrange courier collection and have already paid, and sends a link to a page that imitates a courier, a bank or a payment service. The page asks for your card number, expiry date and security code, or your internet banking login, supposedly to receive the money. It is used to take money instead.

You never need to enter card details to receive a payment. If someone insists, stop replying.

Scams against buyers

Buyers face the reverse: sellers who ask for a deposit before you have seen the item, "shipping only" deals on things that are usually collected, such as cars and large furniture, and prices far below market. For vehicles, check the VIN and history, and see the car in person with the documents.

The safe pattern

Meet, look at the item, and pay by cash or by a bank transfer that you can see in your own banking app before handing anything over. For posted items, use a service with tracking and wait until money has actually arrived. Screenshots and emails are not payments.

Managing and removing ads

Bazoš ads are managed with the phone number and codes or passwords tied to them. Remove ads once the item is sold, both to stop calls and to keep your number from circulating longer than needed. If you change numbers, move or remove active ads while the old number still works.

When the calls keep coming

Even after an ad is removed, a number that appeared on Bazoš may keep receiving calls from buyers who saved it and from dealers who collected it. Blocking and declining politely usually works over time. That long tail is the strongest argument for keeping a separate number for classifieds.

Installing Bazos and verifying the number

On Android

  1. Open bazos.cz or bazos.sk and create your ad
  2. Confirm a number you will keep while the ad is live
  3. Answer buyers by phone or text
  4. Meet and let the buyer see the item
  5. Accept cash or a transfer you can see has arrived
  6. Remove the ad once sold

On iPhone

  1. Open bazos.cz or bazos.sk and create your ad
  2. Confirm a number you will keep while the ad is live
  3. Answer buyers by phone or text
  4. Meet and let the buyer see the item
  5. Accept cash or a transfer you can see has arrived
  6. Remove the ad once sold

When the code does not arrive

In order of how often each one is the real cause:

  1. The confirmation code did not arrive
Check the number and country code, wait and request again. Czech and Slovak numbers work best.
  2. A buyer sent a link to receive payment
It is a scam. Do not enter card or banking details.
  3. You get calls long after selling
Remove the ad and block repeat callers. A separate number avoids this next time.
  4. A seller wants a deposit before a viewing
Do not pay. See the item first.
  5. You cannot edit your ad after changing numbers
Manage ads while you still have the old number, or contact Bazoš.

Working out which case you are in

  1. Do you want your personal number public? Yes Use it. No Use a second number you keep.
  2. Will the number work until the ad ends? Yes Post the ad. No Use one that will.
  3. Did a buyer send a link to get paid? Yes Ignore it. No Carry on.
  4. Is the item sold? Yes Remove the ad. No Keep answering buyers.

Questions

Why does Bazoš need my phone number?

To confirm ads and so buyers can contact you. It is shown with the ad.

Does Bazoš accept rented numbers?

Sometimes, for confirmation, depending on the range. Buyers need to reach you while the ad is live.

A buyer sent a link so I can receive payment. Is it safe?

No. It is a common scam to steal card details.

How do I stop calls after selling?

Remove the ad and block repeat callers.

Should I pay a deposit to reserve an item?

Not before you have seen it in person.

What if the code never arrives?

If you used one of our numbers, you are not charged; the held amount returns to your balance.

Do you have free Bazos numbers?

Public free numbers are shared by everyone who visits a site, so Bazos usually rejects them or someone else reads the code first. Our numbers are private for the whole activation.

What if Bazos does not send the code?

You are not charged. Try another country from the table — delivery differs by country, and the measured rates show where it works best.

How much does a Bazos number cost?

From $4.02, depending on the country. The price shown is the whole price: it is held on your balance and charged only when the SMS arrives.

Can I use the number again later?

No. An activation covers one code. If the account may ask for a code again, keep your own number on it or add an authenticator app.

Which country should I choose for Bazos?

Right now the lowest prices are in Anguilla ($4.02), Australia ($4.02), Austria ($4.02). Where we have at least 100 measured orders the table also shows the delivery rate — when there is one, pick the country with the highest rate.
